I can read French a little but not enough to use communication, English is OK.

Maybe you sould check preference of mozilla.
Which font is set in the font(and color) preference page?
When you set non-japanese font for japanese, you cannot view japanese correctly.

If font setting seems to be correct, we cannot help you without your detailed user environment infomation. Then please inform us below.

Your Plarform: Win-XP?
Whichi Mozilla Product and it's version: Firefox 0.9? Mozilla Suite1.7?
Whether you can view Japanese with other software? / Only Mozilla cannot?
Do you have Japanese Font? and What's japanese font do you have.

If you can prepare, your preference page screen shot may help.

I use Mozilla suite 1.7.2 on windows XP home. I just changed my HDD due to crash and I don&t have those japanese fonts.
I was using before the japanese version of mozilla but it was too difficult for me to read the options!!

I will try to get the fonts now
is that MS Mincho and MS Gothic ?

In my preferences "web pages language" I set French English and Japanese and the "caracter encoding" is set to japanese ISO 2022-JP

my font for japanese is "Arial"
for the language pack I have also French English an Japanese but it say that Japanese needs update>> that I don't know where to get

Without Japanese fonts, you never be able to view with japanese.
Install some japanese fonts first.
If you cannot get japanese fonts you was used, you can use free fonts.

MS Mincho and MS Gothic are both OK.

Most famous Japanese font for web-pages is Shift_JIS and best for default setting.
EUC-JP or UTF-8 are also used many pages.
ISO-2022-JP is mainly for mail.

Arial is not japanese font but alphabet only font.
That setting is cause of the problem. You should get japanese font and set it for that setting.

Hi,

You were right Dynamis, I reinstalled all the fonts and languages from windows control panel and now it works fine.
I can read everything and I just have to understand now but this is another problem!!
